To apply for a PAN card in India, follow the steps given below:

1. Visit the official website of NSDL or UTIITSL.
2. Click on ‘New PAN’.
3. Select ‘Individual’ from the applicant category dropdown menu.
4. Fill in all the required personal details like name, date of birth, address, etc.
5. After filling in the details, you will be asked to choose the type of PAN card you want to apply for (physical card or e-PAN).
6. Upload a scanned copy of your photograph and signature.
7. Pay the application fee using any of the available online payment methods.
8. After submitting the application, you will receive an acknowledgement receipt with a 15-digit acknowledgement number.
9. Print and sign the acknowledgement receipt and send it to the address mentioned in the receipt along with the necessary documents (if applying for a physical PAN card).

Note: You can also apply for a PAN card through the offline mode by downloading and filling in the application form from the official website of NSDL or UTIITSL and submitting it at the nearest NSDL or UTIITSL office.
